Amber Daniel is an American soprano based in New York City, recognized for her warm lyric sound, dramatic presence, and versatility across both operatic and concert repertoire. Her work spans principal operatic roles, major concert appearances, and extensive professional experience as an extra chorister with The Metropolitan Opera.
She has performed leading roles including Ariadne in Ariadne auf Naxos, Cio-Cio San in Madama Butterfly, Mimì in La Bohème, Iolanta in Iolanta, Tatyana in Eugene Onegin, and Rusalka in Rusalka, appearing with companies such as Trentino Festival, Castleton Festival, Opera Slavica, and Tri-Cities Opera. Her interpretations are shaped by a strong affinity for both Italian and Slavic repertoire, with particular focus on Puccini, Tchaikovsky, and Strauss.
In concert and symphonic repertoire, Amber has appeared as soprano soloist in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem, and Tchaikovsky’s Tatiana’s Letter Scene, and has been featured in performances at The Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center. She has also performed in recital and chamber settings, including works by Liszt, Ali-Zadeh, Delibes, and contemporary premieres.
A frequent collaborator in New York’s professional opera and concert scene, she has worked with distinguished conductors and artists including Lorin Maazel, Christopher Larkin, Rafael Payare, and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Her musical development has been shaped by studies and mentorship with renowned teachers including Raina Kabaivanska, Diana Soviero, Marlena Malas, Ruth Falcon, and Martina Arroyo’s Prelude to Performance program.
Amber is a recipient of awards from the Gerda Lissner Foundation, the Licia Albanese Puccini Foundation, the Giulio Gari Foundation Competition, and the Violetta DuPont Competition, including Second Prize in the Gerda Lissner Wagnerian Division Competition.
In addition to her performing career, Amber maintains a private voice studio in New Jersey, where she works with singers of varying levels—from developing young artists to advanced performers preparing auditions and professional repertoire. Her teaching emphasizes healthy technique, musical interpretation, language, and career preparation, drawing from her own experience on major professional stages.
She is also the mother of two musicians, and brings that same dedication to mentorship, artistry, and discipline into both her teaching and performing life.
