
American soprano Amber Daniel, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a rising artist recognized for her powerful, flexible and expressive instrument. In 2014, Ms. Daniel made her professional operatic and role debut as Cio-Cio San in Giacomo Puccini's opera Madama Butterfly by invitation of renowned Maestro Lorin Maazel at his Castleton Festival. In 2019, she made her European debut in the title part of Ariadne auf Naxos for the Trentino Music Festival. Other additional credits on the operatic stage include title and leading ladies Rusalka, Mimì, Jenufa, Nedda, Leonora (Il Trovatore) and Iolanta.
Ms. Daniel is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, notably a 2nd place award in the 2016 Wagner division of the Gerda Lissner International Singing Competition recognizing her talent for lyric Wagnerian roles. Her talent has also been recognized by the Licia Albanese Puccini Foundation; The Giulio Gari Foundation and The Violetta DuPont Competition.
On the concert stage the young soprano was recently credited by Operawire for giving a "phenomenal performance" as soprano soloist in the Verdi Requiem with the New York Choral Society. She was pleased to reappear with them again as soprano soloist for Mozart's Requiem in 2017.
With a passion for new music and song literature she recently performed Liszt’s Tre Sonetti di Petrarcaand Three Watercolors by Franghiz Ali-Zadeh at the 2018 inaugural season of Chamber Music, etc. In 2016, Ms. Daniel recorded and performed the premiere of a new song cycle Gravitations by composer James G. Lindsay with the Memling Ensemble. She has also also performed extensive Slavic vocal works by Janacek, Dvorak, Glinka, Rachmaninov and Rimsky-Korsakov in recital with Opera Slavica.
Ms. Daniel trained as a young artist with The Martina Arroyo Foundation Prelude to Performance program, L’Accademia Chigiana with master teacher and soprano Raina Kabaivanska, Tri-Cities Opera Resident Training Program, Opera Slavica, Masterclass Ischia and Music Academy International.
Ms. Daniel resides in Northern New Jersey outside of NYC where she shares her love of singing with her community and two children.
